Big Picture - Steam

If you don't like Steam there is something wrong with you.

You may not like using it, but you CANNOT deny the advances Valve has made in the PC market with Steam. Making PC gaming accessible to an extremely large crowd, and effectively giving people a reason to NOT pirate PC games.

Today Valve launched Big Picture; a new UI for Steam that adds a more streamlined experience for use with a TV or controller. This is not saying that you have to have you computer hooked up to a TV to use Big Picture, you can still do it on your computer monitor but the whole interface is just designed for a more console-esque experience.

With all the recent rumors about Valve and Apple teaming up to make a console, everyone knew Valve was up to something. I do not think this was a Steam Box or any console type design but more for Valve to learn from the Apple TV.

Big Picture is just in beta right now for PC only but after experimenting with it for a while it truly feels like a finished product. It is so fluid, smooth, intuitive, and honestly, groundbreaking. The simple yet fufilling interface makes the Xbox 360 dashboard look like a joke. It has a built in browser, that isn't just a browser port like on the Wii, it has an awesome new onscreen keyboard for controller called the Daisywheel. The Daisywheel is seriously one of the most intuitive designs I've ever used/seen. It simplifies typing with a controller by eliminating a QWERTY or ABC keyboard.

Seriously, if you have Steam you need to check this out and give it a go.

Go HERE to learn how to use Big Picture now!!!
